BARBAGALLO ART X LYONS GALLERY – “The Greats” Exhibition

Troy Barbagallo of the Barbagallo Group, is thrilled to announce the birth of their new venture - Barbagallo Art, in collaboration with the prominent Sydney Art Gallery, Lyons Gallery. This collaboration will enable Barbagallo Art to bring exclusive contemporary artworks from all around the world, to right here in Perth.

The launch of the gallery, as well as the very first exhibition, “The Greats” will be held on Thursday the 8th of April. The exhibition will showcase the works of world-renowned Photographers, Terry O’Neill and Douglas Kirkland, who are considered to be icons of our generation.

In addition to the artists mentioned above, the collaboration brings a refreshing calibre of artists from national & international spaces, diversifying the pool of prominent works available to art aficionados alike, in a premium and luxury setting.

TERRY O’NEILL

Terry O’Neill is a British Photographer and one-man powerhouse that has had an enviable career spanning several decades. He has captured some of the most spectacular images of cultural & social movements but most notably, celebrities within the realms of film, music and fashion. From his professional relationship with Elton John, that span over 40 years, to  The Beatles and Rolling Stones, Audrey Hepburn to Bridgette Bardot & throw in there; Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Clint Eastwood, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, just to name a few. We’re assuming you get the gist by now.

He has left an indelible mark on the art industry and we are elated to be able to feature his works in our Gallery.

DOUGLAS KIRKLAND

Prominent Portraitist, Douglas Kirkland hails from Canada and has based his prestigious career in the United States, starting out working for notable magazines and advancing into independent works where he has best described his style as “Versatile and very sensitive to the individual subjects. Honest and uncomplicated.” Amongst his legion of globally recognisable subjects, you will find the likes of Gabriel “Coco” Chanel, John Lennon, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol. The plains of fashion, photojournalism and portraiture are forever indebted to Mr Kirkland and his creative work.
